Platinum Refinery is a pre-eminent independent precious metal assayer, refiner and mint. We are an independent precious metal services group of companies. We have been involved in the refining and processing of precious metals since 1991. Today, Platinum Refinery is the benchmark in Africa’s precious metal processing.
Gold Bars
At our refinery have created the 400oz ABC Cast Bar Gold for volume trading in accordance with the LBMA Good Delivery Rules.
Platinum Bars
We are specialized facility that extracts pure platinum (and other Platinum Group Metals like palladium, rhodium) from mined concentrates or recycled materials (like catalytic converters) using complex chemical and metallurgical processes.
Silver Bars
The 5kg Cast Bar Silver is the largest investment grade 999.5+ silver bar produced by our Refinery, a LBMA accredited refiner.
Cobalt Bars
We processes cobalt ore or concentrates into high-purity, usable forms, primarily battery-grade cobalt sulphate for electric vehicle (EV) batteries.
Refining
Refining precious metals means separating valuable gold from other “waste” materials. This is our work. Our chemists use a proprietary version of the “aqua regia” method.
Receipt & Sampling
Upon receipt of the shipment at OUR premises, We inspect received packaging for damage as evidence of tampering. We also record the number of parcels received.

At our laboratory we have the necessary tools for the analysis of precious metals by various methods
Fabrication
We manufacture an extensive range of finished and semi-finished products including cast bars, minted tablets and coins, minted blank tablets and coins as well as pure precious metal granules.
